The main light and sound emanate from down the hallway right off the main room. The lamp’s built-in battery is charged via any USB-C power source, but it can operate for many hours without having to recharged. The lighting and soundtracks are tied together. The lamp only lights up while it’s playing sound and after each soundtrack is played the lighting automatically turns off. To play the next soundtrack just press the button again. There are 5 vocal/music soundtracks varying from 5 seconds to a minute and 40 seconds in length and one nighttime ambiance soundtrack that will play for 20 minutes.
This is NOT a toy. Recommend for ages 8+.
The door does open and close however the hinge is delicate and not designed for excessive use or rough handling.
